Career Education Curriculum Development Acknowledgements
- The work done to support the Career Curriculum was done on the unceded traditional territories of the Katzie, Kwantlen, Matsqui and Semiahmoo First Nations. We are thankful for the partnerships and advice in being custodians of learning for our youth.
- The work was preceded by 4 years (2013-2017) of cross district student forums where students highlighted their goals for the new curriculum and asked that we focus on efforts on developing passion, purpose and personalization in learning. Thank you to all 1500 students who participated in the forums. We heard you and your feedback has shaped this work in every moment! Your voices matter!
- The work was done as a collaborative effort between several school districts in an effort to maintain equity of experiences across districts, to collaborate and share philosophies of learning and to work as a team when districts often operate as silos of learning. As a team we are stronger when we learn from each other! We acknowledge the collective work and ongoing efforts of the following school districts in this work (2015-2018):
- Abbotsford School District
- Chilliwack School District
- Fraser-Cascade School District
